SATURDAY NEWS

Saturday is here and the little kids are still doing well. We had a sweet olympics party last night. This week has been good. I have been really tired. Probably from the long night we had from the concert. I have CTO today which is where our small group gets to go into town and eat lunch. I am excited about it. I also get my last 24 off today. I will be off from Saturday at 6 to Sunday at 6. A couple people and I will be going to Fort Collins which is about an hour away to just relax and hang out. I will going rafting again on Sunday morning which I am looking forward to. I have been in the office all day working on videos and putting up pictures so if you get any free time check them out. I have almost 100 videos up on youtube now. Hope you have a great day!!!

Miss you all!!!

3 Weeks to GO

So I am here still in CO with 3 weeks to go. I am getting burned out with work and people. God is still good. I met some really cool kids over the last couple teen weeks and hope to stay in touch with them. One lives in AZ, one in TX, and one in TN. The experience here has been great. I have had the opportunity to meet incredible people and do some amazing things. God has taught me patience and perseverance. I have learned to actually talk things out instead of hold them in. I haven't taken that many pictures lately just because I have been behind on videos. I plan on taking some tomorrow because me and some friends are going to a concert in Denver. Landon, Foster, and Sterling are coming week 10 from Greenville so I am really excited about that. Please pray for strength and understanding as I finish up the rest of the summer.

LONG LONG LONG TIME

So it has been so long since I have posted something. Partly because I have been busy and partly because I have been lazy. I get so tired. The days are really long. I am not sure when the last post was but I have done many things since then. I went rafting on the Pouder in Fort Collins. It was fun. Our 2nd term staff arrived and made it out to be a great transition. We had our infamous GLO party Friday night. I have put tons of pictures and videos up on flickr and youtube. Every Saturday night we have cabin skits. Last night I could have possibly witnessed the best skit ever out of my 21 years of life. It is up on youtube.

This Wednesday I am going to go see Jon Mclaughlin in Denver. It has been a great summer so far and I am excited about the rest. I promise I will do better and start posting more.

THE 4TH

Last night for the fourth we went down into Estes and chilled at the park. We ate dinner down there and just played with all of the kids. The fireworks were gorgeous. The weather was good. I got some good pictures. It was a great night and day!!!
THE CRACK

So in between camps on Wednesday night we went into town and ate some diner. We were planning on going to a rodeo in Greeley which is an hour away but no one really wanted to go. After dinner we went and hiked and climbed this thing called "the crack." They call it that because it is literally a crack that you have to maneuver your way through. If you are not a fan of tight dark spaces then it would not be a good idea for you. The beginning of the crack you have to somehow get up a very steep 8 ft wall and then turn right around and do the same thing up another wall. Then you have to slide in the beginning of the crack using your hands and knees trying not to fall over 25 ft. When I tried the first time, I got up the first and second wall fine but at the top of the second wall I couldn't quite turn around and slide into the beginning of the crack like I was suppose to, so I ended up having to come down. I felt pretty bummed because I was one of the only ones that didn't do it. So after the other 5 people with me finished we ended up summiting to the top of the crack which was awesome. We were doing most of this as it was getting dark. Once we arrived to the very top we sat down and just watched the sunset, talked, and relaxed. On the descent back down Aaron which is the assistant director here at camp talked me in to doing the crack a different way. We started at "santas' portal" which is just the top part of where I couldn't slide my body into. I was successful in doing the crack. I was really happy that I did it but even more happy that I did it in the dark. It was one of the scariest and hardest things I have ever done. I will be putting up some pictures soon.

MONDAY SCHEDULE

So here is my schedule from Monday.

2:00am Wake up
2:30am Breakfast
2:45am Leave for Sunrise of Twin Sisters
3:10am Started the ascent up to the top of Twin Sisters
5:10am Arrived at the top of Twin Sisters and waited for the sun to rise
5:30am The sun rose and I was able to witness a glorious viewing of God's creation
8:00am Arrived back at the vans and headed back to camp for some more breakfast (baked oatmeal and strawberries)

At breakfast I decided to go on yet another hike. It was probably not the wisest decision considering that Twins was 7.4 miles. I decided to go hike Sandy beach which was a total of 9 miles. Its name stays true to its site. Once you arrive to the "sandy beach" it is gorgeous. My buddy Jess was on the hike and was steadily encouraging me considering I had been up since 2am and already hiked 7.4 miles. I had to drink plenty of water and stay energized by eating bars and fruit. The hike was great because I was able to spend time with Jess because he is leaving today for a week to go backpacking with the Beyond Timberline director. They will be in the continental divide eating cheese and crackers and rations for a week. Today I am finding myself very sore. My decisions were very worthwhile considering some shots that I was able to capture. I took 411 photos alone on the sunrise hike. I hope you guys are able to experience to at least some degree what I was yesterday. Hope you all have a great week!!!
